Central to all of our agricultural endeavors is the Kapalua Farms Compost Center. We take a systems approach to agriculture and connect the dots so that green waste from Kapalua Resort and surrounding West Maui landscapers is transformed into a valuable soil builder using windrow composting technologies. Proportions of chipped materials, temperature and moisture are carefully monitored throughout the microbiological process to ensure the quality of each batch.
The compost center helps to extend the life of Maui’s landfill, reduces trucking miles for green waste disposal and most importantly, creates a valuable substitute for soil amendments that allow us to inch closer to sustainable agricultural systems.
Chipped and raw waste from businesses can be disposed of at the Compost Center located off Honoapiilani Hwy between Napili and Kapalua Resort for a fee. Contact us for information on terms and the drop-off details.
